A (Small) Step in the Right Direction
I am very happy that President Bush signed the Renewable Fuels, Consumer Protection, and Energy Efficiency Act of 2007. However, these small steps to improve environmental quality in the United States leave room for the U.S. to improve. If it wants to be seen as a global leader, let's work on leading in this capacity as well. Click here to see how the U.S. and other countries ranked in the Yale 2006 Environmental Performance Index. It wasn't as bad as I expected, but I know we can do better. And each of us can help by doing our part to reduce, reuse, and recycle.* *Note recycling is the last step after reducing and reusing.
